History

Las Vegas Valley was first visited by Raphael Rivera in the year 1829. It received its name during the party of Antonio Armijo. During the period of 1800s, this valley was full of artesian wells which improved the growth of green vegetation and meadows. The meadows were referred to as Vegas in Spanish language; hence this place received the name Las Vegas.
